This Week Color & Light

This week for science we are studying a little bit about color and light. We plan to make a sundial, but, today it is so cloudy outside, I decided we will wait until later in the week. I found a cute little color wheel on Enchanted Learning, which I printed and laminated for easy reference. The majority or our resources have come from Teacher Book Bag's April Book Bag 2010. This had some terrific information, worksheets, and activities (including the sundial that we haven't got to do yet.) So far, we've covered light, the color of light, Sir Isaac Newton, refraction, reflection, light transmission, and shadows.

This was a great video teaching the basic primary and secondary colors: http://www.ehow.com/video_2381649_primary-secondary-color-lesson-kids.html

Also, this video teaches how to draw a quick color wheel. Fun for kids like mine who love drawing, coloring, and painting. :o) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quEI2wDaPPE

I'm also using a few of the suggested activities and websites from Lesson Pathways, which I just found out today is now totally free!

I'll try to get some pics posted of our sundial when we get it started. :o)
